Weekly Weigh-Ins

Weight-loss is a mentally challenging process, over the last several months I have been trying to figure out how to plow through the obstacles that exist inside my head.   Losing 100 pounds doesn’t seem particularly overwhelming to me (probably because I’ve done it.)  But losing 200 seems like a daunting task so I’ve decided to attend Weight Watchers again, and so far, I’m enjoying the results.

Reporting my weight-loss every week was extraordinarily effective during the first 100 pounds, but I need a fresh start so I’m taking it.  At my first Weight Watchers meeting I weighed 393.6 pounds which means I’ve lost over 100 pounds so far.  It also means that I have a long way to go, and I’m looking forward to utilizing the tools inside the meetings and on the web to help my reach my next 100 pounds lost.  I’m doing this because I want to experience more of the success I’ve experienced in the past, and this is a tool that I’ll use to that end.

In September of 2010, I moved across the country and stopped attending Weight Watchers meetings regularly.  At my last regular Weight Watchers meeting, I weighed 284 pounds.  Now I’m back on year later, after maintaining over 100 pounds of weight-loss to finish the journey I started.   I started fresh at 302 pounds which means I gained about 17 pounds somewhere along the way  (though I believe I did that the week before I restarted.)  Anyway, here’s where I am now….

09/08/11 – 302 lbs

09/15/11 – 291.2 lbs (102.4)

09/22/11 – 288.0 lbs (105.6)

09/29/11 – 287.0 lbs (106.6)

10/13/11 – 291.8 lbs (101.8)

10/20/11 – 289.4 (104.2)

10/27/11 – Missed meeting (Uncle W passed away.)

11/03/11 – 292.6 (101.0)

I’ve been traveling on and off for the last two months, but I will be in meetings more regularly again in January.

12/29/11 – 305.2  (88.4)

01/05/12 – 301.8 (91.8)

01/12/12 – 300.6 (93.0)

01/19/12 – 297.4 (96.2)

01/26/12 – 295.2 (98.4)

02/02/12 -

I myself started out on my current weight loss journey at 339 (not my highest weight). I find that sharing my weight (on My Fitness Pal and Fat Secret) keeps me accountable, and makes me prouder of the weight loss! It also allows me to find buddies who are in a similar situation and going through the same stuff! Great job girl you are very encouraging to me!

we all have our own story to tell but sometimes it takes reading someone elses’ to help understand our own. i just recently found your blog and have been savoring it as much ,if not more than, a great meal lol i have struggled with my weight all my life. it has taken me to my late 30′s to realize the true value in feeling and living well. i too attend ww meetings and just received my 50lb washer last week ( seriously could they not find anything cooler looking? lol ) . my highest weight was 367 lbs. it’s burned into my brain . i could not believe i let myself get to that point . i have no pictures to prove it. i had no desire to be seen, i did not want to see myself. since then i have lost 72lbs total bringing me to 294.6. i am finally out of the 300′s, yay! i was plateaued since april and have pushed through it and am finally seeing results again. of course this is very encouraging. but i also found out that during the time i felt my body was doing nothing at all. i actually lost a lot of inches. its weird how that worked out but iam glad it did! so, i think i have taken up enough space here, i will wrap it up by saying i think you blog is wonderful and very powerful! i have subscribed to it and look forward to losing along side you :) thank you for sharing your journey it means more than you know that i am not doing it alone! ( as nice as those ladies are at my ww group . no one there has the amount of weight i do to lose. sometimes i feel like iam from another planet lol )
thanx for listening , Pam

I know where you are all coming from. I tried them all and there was no way I could lose any weight and keep it off for any length of time. I hate exercise and although I have a Uni degree covering food and nutrition I was still not able to lose it. I actually gave up and decided to go with the flow because I’m now a grand mother and could blame it on age. I began devoting my time to my two little dogs and my grand daughter and because they were all overweight and I was miserable, I thought helping them would help me feel better about myself. I came across ‘Marilyn’s Plan’ by sheer accident. My two dogs lost weight really fast and easily without less food as the vet suggested.I researched my findings and tried it on people and blow me down, it worked. I didn’t even realise it but because I was eating the same way it was working on me too. I couldn’t believe it. I lost about 30kilos in about 8 weeks. I would run out to the loungeroom with a pair of jeans on and scream ‘Look’ I’m shrinking. It was wonderful. I’ve kept it off now for 4 years and it’s easy to maintain.. So I congratulate everyone on their weight loss successes. It’s a wonderful feeling. Marilyn xxx
